Shutong Liu

Currently a PhD student at plant biology at UWA, Shutong Liu came to Australia to do her PhD.

"I'm very lucky to play music here and share Chinese music to the lovely people here in WA."

Having played Guzheng for almost 10 years now, Shutong has performed at WA Chinese Guzheng festival in 2020 and 2021, and has performed with Chung Wah Chinese Orchestra at Chinese folk music concerts, Chinese new year festival and more during her time in Perth.

"The more I play Guzheng, the more I can feel the history and culture behind this traditional Chinese instrument, as well as the connections I make with my audiences through music."
