The Adjustment Trio
The Adjustment Trio have recently branched away from the larger outfit named simply The Adjustment. The Trio offers the ability to dive into the songs of singer/songwriter Phil Barry in a varied manner with three part harmonies at the fore and acoustic guitar driving the songs behind a telecaster twang, the sweet melody of mandolin and the clunk of an occasional banjo.
"I was no stranger to Phil Barry's work and found myself transfixed by his new outfit. I see a lot of music out there and it is always a pleasure to enjoy a band without dissecting each chord or lyric, this means I am in the moment. The Adjustment enables me to feel like I'm transported to an era I wish I grew up in."

The Adjustment Trio is Phil Barry (Vocals/acoustic guitar/banjo/harmonica), Grant Ferstat (Electric guitar/vocals) and Jonny Pratt (mandolin/vocals). The band have been playing together in varied formats for the last 5 years and have seen the songs shift and change in that time. Old songs have been given a fresh feel and the band will be showcasing a number of new songs this festival too.
The larger outfit have previously recorded two very well received ep’s that have garnered many favourable reviews and plenty of airplay locally, nationally and overseas.
The Triphammer’s Crash’ is a four track ep with a diverse range of subjects and sounds. The title track recalls Jeff Tweedy’s lyrical lilt and melodic twists before venturing to a Rawlings/Welch chorus with bluegrass inspired harmonies; and sweeping pedal steel guitar contributed by Shane Reilly of Lost Ragas.

The Adjustment are no strangers to playing to large audiences at music festivals, including Nannup Festival, WAM Festival and Boyup Brook Festival. The Adjustment Trio plan to continue this trend and with many new songs being penned, would like to enter the studio to release a full length album in the near future with the rest of the band back on board. Stay tuned.
