  • When is the festival?
    WAGF 2021 runs 4pm Friday 7th October 2022 - 8pm Sunday 9th October 2022
  • Where is it and how do I get there?
The festival will be held in Margaret River, in the state's South West region, a scenic 3hr drive south of Perth city via State Route 2. For more info on getting here, see HERE
  • When does the festival program come out?
You'll be able to check it out HERE when it's released in August!
  • Where can I stay?
Margaret River has plenty of accommodation options both in town and throughout the wider region - check out our list of choice places to stay HERE.
  • Where can I park?
3hr parking for the Main Exhibition at Margaret River HEART is available at the front and rear of the building, though if you intend to stay in town we recommend you take your feet to the streets and make the most of the many events all within close walking distance of each other in central Margaret River. Alternatively, each venue has its own parking facilities as usual, though if you intend to drink we ask that you make a plan beforehand. Information can be found on local taxi services below.
  • Does Margaret River have a taxi service?
Yes, you can call Margaret River Taxi Service on (08) 9757 3444 - see HERE for more info. We recommend booking ahead.
  • What disabled facilities are there at the festival?
All of the venues have wheelchair access, and most have disabled parking options along with disabled toilet facilities. Margaret River HEART has all three. For seated performances, please contact us with details and we'll make sure to reserve you an easily accessible seat. The festival also honours the NDIS Companion Card Scheme; please get in contact before booking tickets so that we can arrange this for you. Any Q's, don't hesitate to ask.
  • Is it a family friendly event?
Yes - all ages welcome, though with some exceptions. We're all about inspiring the next generation of pickers and pluckers, and we've made the festival as accessible and welcoming as possible to facilitate this. There are plenty of free events, and paid events are free to kids 12 and under provided they have a parent with a festival pass or ticket as they will need to be supervised at all times. Many of the festival venues also have playgrounds and fun stuff to keep the kids happy, though some become strictly 18+ after a certain time, so if you intend to be out into the evening please contact the venue beforehand to be sure or check for an 18+ sign on the festival program. Under agers (U18 years) must be accompanied by a parent/carer at all times in our licensed venues, though the following venues are strictly 18+: - Settlers Tavern after 9pm - The River Hotel after 9pm Please keep in mind that there may be some language or performances you may consider unsuitable for children due to some artists' freedom of expression. If you haven't already, check out the YOUTH PROGRAM.
  • Are there food options?
Yes! You can find plenty of incredible options at all the festival venues, or a short walk along the main street if you want even more choice. The only exception to this is Margaret River District Club. Margaret River HEART will have some awesome food trucks Saturday 8th Oct 9am-7pm & Sunday 9th October 9am-3pm, otherwise we'd recommend enjoying the menu at The River right across the road if you're sticking close to the hub for events.
  • Is it BYO?
No, sorry. The following venues offer alcohol service: - Margaret River HEART - The River - Settlers Tavern (with the exception of the youth event Sunday Morning) - Colonial Brewing Co (18+ only) - Burger Baby - Brewhouse - Margaret River Distilling Co - Margaret River District Club (18+ only) As mentioned previously, U18's must be accompanied by an adult at all times at venues where alcohol service is being offered. The following venues are strictly alcohol free venues: - The Zone Room - CWA Hall - South Regional TAFE
  • Can I bring my dog?
    No, sorry.
  • Can I volunteer at the festival?
Yes! Submit an application to volunteer HERE and we'll get back to you soon.
  • Can I use EFTPOS?
Yes, all of the festival venues take card.
  • Where can I find an atm?
If you need or prefer cash, many of the venues have an ATM on site, and there are a number of ATMs on the main street of Margaret River (Bussell Hwy), marked out on the festival map in your program.
  • Where can I buy a Festival Pass?
    Via Humanitix HERE.
  • How much do Passes cost?
Weekend Passes start from $160+bf (early bird), and Day Passes will be available from $100+bf.
  • What's the difference between a Weekend Pass, Day Pass or Individual Event Ticket?"
Weekend Passes get you into any event over the 3 days free of charge, whilst Day Passes do the same but are valid only for the day written on the pass. If you prefer to just check out a few things at the fest you can also buy tickets for just those events HERE.
  • Do you offer refunds?
Sorry we don’t. In special circumstances we may be able to help, however if you have changed your mind or are unable to attend the event you can list your ticket for sale on Tixel, our official ticket resale platform - it's a piece of cake! Problems with Covid? See answers in T's&C's or get in touch.
  • Do I need to buy passes for my children?
Children (12 years and under) get free admission to all festival events (provided you have a valid festival pass or event ticket) but need to be under adult supervision at all times. Settlers Tavern and The River are strictly 18+ after 9pm, though under agers are allowed at other licensed venues provided they are accompanied by an adult at all times. If you intend to bring your child for a workshop, please let us know. Workshops are free for U13's to attend, provided a parent guardian holds a festival pass or single ticket to the workshop. Passes for 13-17's are standard price. If you haven't already, check out the YOUTH PROGRAM (out in August) for tons of stuff just for the kids.
  • Where can I pick up my Pass from?
You can find the friendly festival team waiting for you with your lanyard, wristband and relevant add-on's at the Festival Box Office, located in the foyer of Margaret River HEART, 47 Wallcliffe Rd, Margaret River. Passes will be available for collection at the exhibition opening on Friday night from 4pm-9.30pm, and from 9.30am-5pm Saturday & Sunday.

YES! Tickets to individual events will be available HERE.
  • Can I buy tickets at the event?
If there are Passes or single event Tickets remaining you can purchase these over the weekend at the Festival Box Office, located in the foyer of Margaret River HEART, 47 Wallcliffe Rd, Margaret River and open 4pm-9.30pm Friday 7th Oct, 9.30am-5pm Sat 8th & Sun 9th October 2022. The only exceptions to this are: FRI 7th OCT @ The River @ Colonial Brewing Co SAT 8th OCT @ The River @ Settlers Tavern Where tickets will be available for purchase both at the event and via the Box Office.
  • Can I buy a day pass?
Yes! Day Passes will be available HERE.
  • What does a festival pass get me?
You'll have access to all festival events over the weekend as long as you have your wristband and photo ID. Make sure to read the important information regarding passes, along with Terms & Conditions.
  • Will I receive a physical ticket?
No. Your ticket will be sent to you via email once the booking process has been completed. To save paper we encourage that you save this to your phone/tablet to show event staff when you arrive to collect your pass. If you forget, no worries - your name will be on the list and our ticketing staff will just need to see your valid photo ID - however it will be faster and easier for everyone if we can just scan the QR code on your ticket rather than looking you up in the system.
  • I've lost my ticket!
If you can't find your confirmation email with enclosed ticket, email us at hello@stringsattachedfestival.com.au and we'll resend it to you. Make sure you put in your correct email as we'll also use this to send you a link to the registration portal when it opens.
  • I've lost my lanyard!
Never fear - all pass holders also receive a wristband to wear. You'll be able to get into all events with your wristband, however you won't be able to get in without your wristband, so be sure to keep it on for the weekend!
  • Can I bring my booking confirmation on my smartphone or tablet?
Yes! That is preferred - just make sure your device is readable (eg. cracked screens, charged).
  • Do you offer concession price passes?
Sorry we don’t. We keep our ticket prices as affordable as possible along with offering plenty of free events as part of the festival program. Sign up to our mailing list for first access to Early Release tickets, which are cheaper.
  • Is it safe to buy a secondhand ticket?
Yes, but only from Tixel - you can find secondhand tickets HERE when available.
  • Can I transfer my ticket?
For any resale of tickets we strongly recommend you use Tixel to protect yourself against scammers. Check out the easy process HERE - you can even keep your ticket listing private so no one else can buy it if you already have a seller or just want to give it away to a friend.
  • Why can't I register for any events?
This year we've done away with the event registration system we'd used since 2019 in order to simplify things for everyone. Starting from this year, events will operate on a first-in-best-dressed basis, so make sure you arrive on time!
