Blackwood Rising

Two blokes, guitars and drums. A finely balanced and nuanced relationship forged on a mutual love of blues spiced by utter contempt for each other, offset by an abiding musical brotherhood and grudging respect (and a healthy sense of humour) that only two decades of playing together can achieve.

Fingerpicking and some bottleneck slide, a mix of covers and originals, alternate tunings, an octave pedal, a drumkit hit like it owes money and a disdain for technology is their thing.

They’ve been busily gigging up and down the state from Rottnest to Albany and are regular support for Creedance tribute band Proud Mary, as well as having supported 19Twenty, the Black Sorrows, Ross Wilson, Mental as Anything and Blue Shaddy in recent years.
